Run Baby Run - Race The Dead 2013

Race The Dead is Singapore's first ever zombie race in Singapore.
I was really upset when I found out that registration was close for the race but the next thing I knew, they opened up another race day! So hyped and no matter how expensive it was ( $80), I signed up with my friends.

There was a choice between being a zombie or a racer. Honestly, I don't run frequently so 5km was a total challenge for me. The online videos made me even more excited because its almost like a mini wipeout challenge .

We signed up for the last 2nd time slot because we knew that Halloween was the night before.
I was so anxious about it and went around texting my friends who ran on the 1st day.
Apparently, most of them completed the race and became a SURVIVOR.

Registering for the race. The last time I participated in a race was during the NIKE womens 5K run with Eexuan so this time, I participated with both Charlotte and Irina.

I'm very anal about taking care my body like not getting it tanned....... Sunblock is essential for events like this . You may think its so diva-ish but whatever , it's important to me.

This happens once in a blue moon when I'm so KIND (lol) to help Charlotte to apply sunblock.

Each racer had 2 life tags that has to be placed at both side of the hips. Once both tags are taken by the zombies, you're officially OUT!!! However, there was a life station in the middle of the route which I TOTALLY NEEDED CAUSE ONE OF THE ZOMBIE MANAGE TO GET 1 LIFE FROM ME.

Literally ran for my life and IT WAS SO DIFFICULT to run on sand!!!!

We all kept our phones in the bag therefore there's very limited photos of the race itself .

Aftermath of the run. Our shoes was soaking wet and sandy because some obstacles required us to get soaked.
There was a maze and I hated the obstacle which needed us to crawl. My legs were crying.

Everyone getting washed up together to be part of the Guinness book of records for "Most number of people showering together".

Proudly flaunting our Survivor Tees!

All of the zombie's makeup was so impressive. Hands down. The weather was so torturous but they did such a good job. Applause for yall.
LOOK AT HOW MANY LIFE TAGS HE MANAGE TO SNAP!!

Free cupcakes up for grabs. It tasted quite delish surprisingly.

Free photo booth snaps at the end of the race.
I'm a SURVIVOR!!!!!

Was a wonderful experience to be part of the race and I can't wait to participate in my next race which is ELECTRIC RUN!!!!!

Side note, I'm loving that school is only less than 4 hours everyday. Having a weekend off from work allowed me to get my house chores and wrap up my reports for FYP.
Have a wonderful week guys!

SG Night Fest 2013

Singapore Night Festival is a night extravanganza of arts and culture. Its held annually so this year it was over the past 2 weekends! Beatrice and me went to the night fest on the last night ,last Saturday. IT WAS SO CROWDED.
I find it surprising to find out so many Singaporeans actually appreciate local art and music.
Only had some pictures from the night festival itself:image

I love the paper cranes exhibit amongst all the works. They were so pretty!

Super ATAS flea market at chijmes.

Guess the main highlight of the night was the lights display at SAM.
image
Beatrice and me all sweaty and tired from the walking so we were pretty badass, sat on the long mrt escalator.
I just went for facial that morning so my face had plenty of red spots. :(

image
Oh oh! I made this meme cause I found it very ridiculous that there was a long queue at the 1 direction merchandise store at Cathay. There were parents queueing with their kids. #failedparenting

Had my haircut yesterday at a random parlour.Apart from the hair wash, THEY RUINED MY FRINGE.... IT WAS SO SHORT. Hate it when hairdressers ruin my hair. Now I just have to pray that it will grow fast before the New face finals.
Mambo Sundays with the A&F crew.
Chantal and I spent the whole evening lazing on the bed and talking about everything. Joey is leaving to London to study law. I really hope you do well bby. Have a safe trip!

Food for thought @ NMS

Amidst all the work this week, I managed to find some time today to meet both Reiee and Xuan.
Since it was a Sunday, having brunch together was definitely the best idea.
Settled at Food For Thought at National Musuem of Singapore.
Its the only outlet that serves All Day Breakfast.

image
It was the peak brunch hour so the seats were all pretty packed.
Luckily, we only had 3 dining in we got our seats fast!
image
Just camwhoring while waiting for both of them to arrive.
Been having breakouts recently because of M. Hardly have any time to go for facial. :(

*Food arrives*
*Whips out cameras to take photos*

Fries tossed in chilli padi butter, kaffir lime, etc. The ketchup dip was the bomb! I think it had salsa mixed in it too. I love Salsa, the only thing that goes well with bread (for me).

Nom Nom Nom.

This was the "House" breakfast ($14) which has scrambled eggs, bread, hashbrown, tomato salad, bacon.
"Full" ($20) was exactly the same but with the addition of chicken sausage and garlic mushrooms.
It was unnecessary because the portion was already very big!
Reiee and Xuan had difficulty finishing their portion but I did not *grins*.
Next up, this is the ho ho ho horlicks milkshake ($8.50).
Btw, its really called HO HO HO HORLICKS on the menu..

image
Man it was delish!!!!!!! All the 3 of us shared one which was more than enough.
We wouldn't mind just sitting at the cafe enjoying just the milkshake.

Meaningful quotation hanging at the entrance of the Museum.
Talking about museums,I want to go to the Singapore Night Festival at SAM!!
Heard pretty good reviews that it was a pretty sight. :)
After our brunch, we went to the Magnum Indulgence pop up store located at Clarke Quay Fountain.
We have been craving to drop by after seeing so many people sharing it on Instagram.
The weather was merciless so ice cream is a must!

My Magnum creation .
Dipped in Dark chocolate, topped with chocolate hearts+Marshmellows+Almond Flakes and drizzled with white chocolate.
image
That cost 7 bucks. It was extremely sinful of course.

image

Verdict?
I prefer their new champagne flavour.
No pictures of the 3 of us till Reiee uploads the photo. :(
