A Spooktacular Day

Its 1 in the afternoon and I am happy to say that its "TGIF" for me.
My day started at 9 in the morning and after I'm done with school, its home sweet home.
As you know, Halloween was just yesterday and I did manage to dress up this year.
However, most people dressed up on Saturday instead of yesterday because it was a weekend night.
If you have seen my instagram, you would have already known what I dressed up as.

Tadaaaaa!

The Black Swan!
If you're not aware who is this, please bang your head against the wall.
Here's the breakdown of how I was able to complete the whole outfit on a budget.

1) Bustier

Basically, I just recycled an old black plain bustier that Eexuan donated to me....
Made a trip to Chinatown to get the extra feathers, rhinestones and fabric glue which costed me $10?
Taking reference to the pictures from the movie, I realized that most of the feathers were on the left chest area so I tried to make the bustier similar.

2)Tutu Skirt
The skirt was a separate from the top itself and I bought it from taobao...
My aunt made a trip back to China so she offered to buy it for me at no cost.
FREE! (but it must be like less than $10 for sure)

3)Heels
Didn't buy the heels just for this but I had it all along in my shoe closet. Perfect to complete the outfit.

4)Hair & Makeup

The hair wasn't a problem at all, because I just had to tie my hair into a bun. Bought this clip on feather thingy that I just clipped it on my bun.
One of the most crucial part of the outfit has got to be the face makeup. I was looking for the white base paint and randomly bought it at a costume shop @fep. IT WAS HORRIBLE.
Like it gave my face a very oily finish which made it even harder to draw the black strips etc.
Sigh......... but thankfully, I just tried to use whatever I have.

Michelle phan's tutorial was VERY USEFUL.

I guess one of the reasons why she gets so many views on her videos is because she caters to the asian crowd.
Oh I did give the red contact lenses a miss because I've sensitive eyes.
Didn't miss this out either. Spammed black and silver eyeliner on my hands.

Whole outfit cost: $30?!?
HOW CHEAP IS THAT!
My friend told me that she bought her superwoman outfit from a store at $80....
What........

The whole preparation took about 1.5 hours and it was time to head out!

Unfortunately, it was a little bit too late so I was only able to catch a few interesting costumes.

Jason from Friday the 13th!

People were suppose to be scary on Halloween so I don't know how this group fitted into the theme but it was humorous that they dressed cohesively as a group.

Can you guess what Dave was? HAHAHA

Funniest outfit of the night has got to be this.
She had to walk sideways like a crab because of the frame.

Was already making my way to Zouk and look who I saw!
A little ballerina. She was such a sweetie because she kept looking at me and smiling, telling her mum that she wants a picture. Awww

Moe was a unicorn . Bet it felt like an oven in there.

Irina was the girl version of Thor. Sadly, we didn't see any cute guys in a Thor outfit.

The night ended earlier as usual because I had a bad headache by the end of the night.
It was such a long day because Irina and me had FFO till 10pm.
We signed up for Race the Dead, Singapore's first zombie race therefore it was important to get ample rest.
Xuan and I did our part by dressing up as dead Mexican dolls. The face painter only drew half of our faces as requested.

Till next time,
Amelia

Here and There

/Tuesday Night
As usual, I had dinner with my dad.
Wanted to have TimHoWan but the queue was insane so we settled at Ambush!
I have always wanted to try their european dishes. Ever since, I was back from Europe last year, my love for European dishes never died. Well, especially for Gelato.
Ambush serves dishes originated from Spain, Germany and France.

Salmon with linguine.

My favourite dish out of the whole lot!! Spanish Paella!!! Dad had the signature Ambush paella whereas I opt for another. Really hope I can go directly to Spain next time to have this.
Definitely going back some time soon to have their set lunch.

/Wednesday Night

Now that my brother is finally legal, he has been popping by clubs..
Hmmmm. I don't know if thats a good thing.

/Thursday
Spent my day roaming around MBS with my family. Manage to catch this epic shot of my niece dancing.
Thanks to my phone's multi shot function.
Au Chocolat for high tea with Charlotte.
SO MANY YUMMY DESSERTS TO TRY but I wasn't that hungry.

Chocolates. I always love the thought of getting chocolates from my friends but its a love-hate relationship because nomming on chocolates is so sinful.
Their signature tower cake with Au Chocolat Fudge. Both of us could not even finish the whole cake!!!!!! It had the chocolate balls in between the cake layers which made it even more appetizing.

/ Friday
Brunch at Kith Cafe.
Met my A&F girls over at this cafe for a quick brunch before work.
Joey is leaving for the UK to study, really hope she does well and we will all soon reunite!
Wednesday parties won't be the same without you Joey!

Missing Sabrina cause she was late!!
On our way to work for Cath Kidson! We were just giving our balloons and I cannot stand how parents DON'T ALLOW their kids to have one. Like seriously? Its childhood and how could you reject those cute puppy eyes of the children!!! Proceeded to Nat's birthday after work which ended at Zouk HAHAHA

/Sunday
I was a vietnamese girl over the weekends. This is me in my uniform. Many passer-bys really thought I was vietnamese. Ok can... I have people coming up to me thinking I am Thai-chinese, Vietnamese, Indo-Chinese.

There was a 4 hour break in between shifts so Ivy came to have lunch with me!
We had Saveur over at FEP, was my virgin experience.
All I can say is that it is affordable but the servings were small for mains.
Roasted Duck Salad .
I forgot what is this called but the pieces on the top of the cheesy risotto is chicken!
Yummy capellini with baby shrimps
Mooncake festival is around the corner so both of us went over to the Annual mooncake Taka fair and I bought more than expected. Can't wait for dad to buy me Maoshanwang mooncakes from Goodwood Park!!
This sums up my week. 3 more weeks till I end my internship. TIME PLEASE FLY.
I cannot take it anymore.

SG Night Fest 2013

Singapore Night Festival is a night extravanganza of arts and culture. Its held annually so this year it was over the past 2 weekends! Beatrice and me went to the night fest on the last night ,last Saturday. IT WAS SO CROWDED.
I find it surprising to find out so many Singaporeans actually appreciate local art and music.
Only had some pictures from the night festival itself:image

I love the paper cranes exhibit amongst all the works. They were so pretty!

Super ATAS flea market at chijmes.

Guess the main highlight of the night was the lights display at SAM.
image
Beatrice and me all sweaty and tired from the walking so we were pretty badass, sat on the long mrt escalator.
I just went for facial that morning so my face had plenty of red spots. :(

image
Oh oh! I made this meme cause I found it very ridiculous that there was a long queue at the 1 direction merchandise store at Cathay. There were parents queueing with their kids. #failedparenting

Had my haircut yesterday at a random parlour.Apart from the hair wash, THEY RUINED MY FRINGE.... IT WAS SO SHORT. Hate it when hairdressers ruin my hair. Now I just have to pray that it will grow fast before the New face finals.
Mambo Sundays with the A&F crew.
Chantal and I spent the whole evening lazing on the bed and talking about everything. Joey is leaving to London to study law. I really hope you do well bby. Have a safe trip!
